Wednesday March 17th Royal Western YC, Plymouth.Douglas Addison; ‘White Nights in the Baltic’. Douglas, is the CA Section Secretary for Wessex, he will travel west well over the Dorset boarder to share with us a recent cruise in his yacht, which he often manages singlehandedly. Leaving Turku in Finland Douglas and Galatea of London sailed to Estonia, on to Latvia, then Gotland, before travelling north again up the Swedish east coast through the Swedish archipelago and the Aland Islands returning to Turku for the winter. You will be delighted by his illustrations and adventures.

Wednesday April 7th 2010 Royal Cornwall YC, Falmouth.Drummond Challis; ‘The Riddle of Erskine Childers’ Drummond returns by popular demand to unveil the complicated life of the author of ‘The Riddle of the Sands’. This is a fascinating tale with Drummond’s usual attention to detail in researching the man of many interests that Childers was and throwing light on why he wrote ‘Riddle’. Archive photographs and film footage to aid the story telling giving glimpses in to an interesting time in the history of our islands, it will be a facinating evening.
