Why CA London? It is a well known fact that all cruising sailors fit out their boats at Easter, head off into the sunset and are not seen again in home ports until the autumn leaves appear. Well, not quite. The demands of work and family keep quite a few of us ashore for large parts of the season. So it seemed a pity that April used to mark the end of the CA House social season. CA London launched a couple of years ago with the main aim of organising social events at CA House.
We run extremely popular weekly lectures and talks on Wednesday nights during the autumn and spring. These lectures cover all sorts of things, from advice on planning a Round Britain cruise to the history of London's waterways, from terrific tales of Blue-Water adventure, to the trials and tribulations of long term cruising with the family. For details of upcoming talks, please see here or at the top right corner of this page under "forthcoming events".
We also host events such as our popular quiz night, a summer barbeque, wine and beer tasting and a yearly Carol Service held at St Anne's Limehouse as a joint event with the Mediterranean Section.
We are very lucky to have the purpose-built CA House at our disposal. Agnieszka, our catering manager, and her team are allways happy to see you in our bar and restaurant, which is generally open from 6.00pm.
Anyone who would like to join the group or offer ideas and suggestions is very welcome. You can contact us by emailing the office. The section secretaries are John and Alison Hadley.
