The
Essex Section provides a calendar of events for CA members and their guests
throughout the year. The section has continued to grow with approximately 250
members and an increasing range of activities, which includes a programme of
talks, mid-week, waterside lunches, the traditional fitting-out and laying-up
suppers and summer rallies.
We look forward to meeting you both on and off the water. We use the central CA database for mailings so, if you want to join this section and be on our mailing list use the Join Now button on the right. If you do not see this button, you are already a member of this section. There is no charge for joining a section; members may join as many sections as they wish.

Our meetings are held in the main function room of the Club which is on the first floor and has superb views over the river.
You pay £8.00 for a splendid two-course dinner with coffee at our regular, evening meetings. Alternatively, just turn up an hour later for the presentation and pay £3 per person if you are a CA member or £5 if you are not. The evening generally starts at 7pm with the dinner. The talks begin at 8pm and finish at 10pm. There is plenty of parking space and a bar is available. Details of these events are listed in the right-hand column on this page.
Our mid-week lunches are held at different locations in different parts of the county. These are informal and no booking is required. Just turn up on the day and enjoy good company and food in a pleasant, waterside environment.
Our standard programme runs a number of rallies each season, some being jointly organised with Suffolk and Kent sections.
We make every effort to make new members welcome and introduce them to existing members at our meetings, lunches and rallies. The section secretaries, Paul and Birgitta, can be contacted on essex@cruising.org.uk and would welcome any comments and suggestions.
Below you can see pictures of an evening meeting, a mid-week lunch and the RHYC marina where we join with CA Suffolk and Kent sections for our spring rallies.
