Blue Water Communications
There are various ways to communicate with, and find contact details for, other blue water members.
Other members
We provide a regularly updated table of members which includes previous cruising areas, current location, email addresses & personal blogs. This is very useful when you want to speak to someone who has sailed in a particular area! This document is only available to members and can be found here.
Section Secretaries
Yo u will receive occasional emails from Brian and Sandy, the Section Secretaries, giving details of upcoming events or notifying you that a new newsletter is available. As we are aware that many of you have limited intenet access, we will not send lengthy emails, or emails with attachments or pictures. Instead, we will send one email incorporating 'events' and the fact a newsletter is ready to be read/printed off on the webpage as a pdf. Brian and Sandy can be contacted on .
Blue Water Net
The most valuable communication tool that we have is BlueWaterNet. This is run along the same lines as the successful BalticNet and MedNet.
The Net has been designed for posing questions by email. All questions and all replies are posted online for everyone to see.
All members can read the questions posed on Blue Water Net but to receive questions and answers by email you must subscribe to the Net. If you set yourself to 'normal mode' you get all questions and replies by email BUT if if you set yourself to 'cruising mode' you get all questions but only replies to your own questions by email. See here for instructions on how to do this.
NB When joining in is essential to scroll down to the very bottom of the page and 'SAVE' your net selections
Once you have completed this process you will be able to start using Blue Water Net immediately.
To start a new message by email, send an email to: bluewater@myca.org.uk
To reply to an email message, click on Reply and send your email in the normal way. To view all questions and all answers go to the forum page.
