A Warm Welcome to the CA Biscay Section
The BISCAY SECTION is the newest of the CA’s specialist groups and covers the waters from North Brittany to Gibraltar. That area includes some of the most stunning cruising grounds in Europe and is easily accessible to UK-based boat owners. Mention Biscay and you’ll often be told by ‘experts’ that it’s a storm-battered coast littered with hazards and sailed only by the foolhardy. Oh how wrong these ‘experts’ can be! The area boasts some of the most attractive and sheltered cruising grounds in Europe. There are stunning and tranquil islands, beautiful rivers, access to a substantial network of inland waterways and it’s no surprise it boasts some of the best food and drink on the planet thanks to first-class French and Spanish cuisine.
Whether you keep your boat on the Biscay coastline, cruise the area from the UK or are simply keen to know more the Biscay Section is for you. From North Brittany to Gibraltar the Biscay Section is the one-stop shop for everything you’ll need. You don’t have to sail Biscay to join — and it’s free, all part of your CA membership. Come and join the Biscay section.
We maintain what is probably the most comprehensive and up-to-date library of navigation information for the area.
We hold regular rallies at various locations along the Biscay coastline and also here in the UK. For details of the latest click Events.

Whether you want advice on a good place to eat, the inside track on where to get a cheap mooring, local knowledge of tides or simply feel like meeting up with like-minded souls all this is just a click away on Biscay Net.
The section maintains close contact with the network of HLRs around the coast and also secures discounts on everything from marina fees to wine.
