This series of pilot books by the late Robin Brandon covering the Mediterranean coasts of Spain and France have, for some time, been established as the standards works for the area. This latest edition of the volume covering the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca sections of the Spanish coast from Gibraltar as far as Denia, some miles to the east of Alicante, is updated to May 1998 by Oz Robinson. The style of the previous editions has been essentially maintained. The coverage, as previously, is comprehensive. The main improvement is in the use of full colour illustrations for both photographic views and harbour plans, which are of the highest quality throughout. The previous edition carried a small separate small-scale chart of the area covered, which was not present in the review copy of the new edition. -BMF
