Directory of North-East Council Harbours; Aberdeenshire and Moray Councils; Ideal Publicity, 2005; CA 16508

These two councils have produced a useful little booklet that covers their thirteen harbours from Stonehaven in the south round the corner to Banff.  Brief historical notes put the whole in context, and other reference material refers to the Aberdeenshire Council website: www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/harbours for harbour rates, dues etc.  Each harbour has a double page spread that includes a monochrome chartlet to scale, and relevant information such as a brief description, harbour depths, facilities and contact details for the HM.

A further page gives the lat./long. of the other 16 harbours in the area not under their control together with the contact number and name of the appropriate person in authority where applicable. A brief note about HM Coastguard includes reference to the availability of routine weather information.  The tide tables for Aberdeen are included.

This is a most useful publication for anyone planning a cruise in the North-east of Scotland. - MJD
