Fred Hope sets out to discover the murky truth behind the disappearance of his Uncle Ernie, whose life has been full of adventures whilst seeking to further the interests of his passions - the environment, pacifism and equality. The tale leads through to an exciting conclusion in the cold North Sea off Norway and along the way it becomes clear that in his life Uncle Ernie has upset some very vicious people in Fascists and the Russian Mafia. Throughout there is a great understanding of the sea and there were times when your reviewer thought he should don sailing gear to get right into it. A fine and exciting read that was very difficult to put down. Thoroughly recommended. - GBT
