I was delighted to review this book. Yachtsman's Pilot to Skye and Northwest Scotland is a revelation of clarity. Excellent use has been made of chartlets, colour and black and white photographs and line drawings. Leading lines and obstructions are crystal clear. The aerial photographs are reminiscent of the tropics revealing the bottom clearly. The chartlets follow the practice of Admiralty's publications. The introduction starts with advice on anchors, anchorages, weather, tides etc. There is a very useful glossary of Gaelic terms and their meaning towards the end of the book and a table of facilities available at the various anchorages. The layout is excellent with line drawings and chartlets on the same page and often with a photograph making it useful to have it on deck for eyeballing. This book is an essential item onboard any vessel cruising north of Ardnamurchan point. KMN
