Checking my records, I was surprised to find that I had not reviewed any of the previous editions! However, The 2007-2008 Cruising Guide to the Virgin Islands is every bit as good as the other guides that I have reviewed from the same publisher, which makes it a ‘must have’ for visiting the Virgins, both British & US, and for studying before arriving there. Despite the caveat about not using the Guide for ‘navigational purposes’ I would unhesitatingly do so! I do not believe that the overlaid, panoramic colour air-to-ground photographs would lie and the clearly drawn coloured chartlets would be a wonderful aid to ‘eye ball’ navigation. The Guide is not only written for yachtsmen but also for divers, anglers and other water sports enthusiasts so there is much useful information for other water based leisure activities as well as a great deal of useful advice on what to do and how to behave when ashore. It is sold as ‘the complete guide …’ and I am pleased to endorse that claim. - Ian Galletti
