As a regular subscriber to Yachting Monthly, frequently the first page I turn to is the last one. ‘Confessions’ are there to cheer me up, and more often than not, they provide a lesson in the best way – laughing as you learn from the misfortunes of others! Further Confessions I thought I might have already read, but no, this edition has 84 incidents that made me chuckle on every topic imaginable.

It is a soft back A5 booklet, well printed and liberally illustrated by Mike Peyton’s inimitable cartoons. It's ideal for the “smallest room” or even the “heads” – though perhaps not the latter as the occupant might stay there too long! - FT
