Very few of us boat owners don’t work on our own boat. It is in fact half the fun: more than half to most of us. From the moment I picked up "Boat Interior Construction" by Michael Naujok I realized that I had hold of something special. Beautifully laid out with nice clear type, you can follow every step of every job with crisp clear colour photographs. In fact most pages have more picture than print!
My only problem was with the title. Was it doing the book justice or were we being misled? This book doesn’t just cover a bit of woodworking inside. It covers everything from choosing the right boat to repairing a keel or laying a teak deck. It covers the plumbing and fresh water system, upholstery, chart table, cooker, soundproofing the engine in addition to every sort of carpentry you can think of. How could all this be included so simply and clearly into such a small book? Possibly because the importance of pre-planning, so strongly stressed within, has been followed when producing the book.
For the first time whilst reviewing, I went straight out and bought myself a copy. It is an absolute "must have" for every single one of us and worth its weight in gold. - RPY
