The title should be ‘This is Dinghy Sailing’ since that is what the book is about. The immediate impression is of the outstanding quality of illustration. Every page features high resolution full colour graphics, the whole beautifully produced on superior grade paper - a quality production.
The text, dealing with the basic principles of dinghy sailing and then moving on to more advanced competitive elements of the sport, is, as mentioned, lavishly illustrated and is presented in an easily readable, down to earth style. The editor is the RYA Senior National racing Coach, so it must be supposed that he knows what he is talking about.
The book, according to its own publicity, has been continuously in print since 1973 and with close to a million copies sold can fairly claim to be something of a standard work.
For anyone requiring a comprehensive introduction to owning, rigging and sailing a modern performance dinghy it can be thoroughly recommended. - BMF
