My sailing cycle has completed the loop from cruising through racing to cruising again. When I started to race in 1961 I thought I knew a lot about sailing but when I returned to cruising 25 years later, I knew I still had a lot more to learn about sailing efficiently!

Ivar Dedekam has produced an excellent, clearly written and profusely illustrated short cut to sail and rig tuning that will allow most sailors to climb the long learning curve much more quickly. In his introduction, the acknowledges that the book was originally inspired by my own “bible” on the subject, “The North U. Fast Course”tm. I believe, however, Ivar’s to be more comprehensive and better value for money.

I would urge anyone who takes their sailing seriously to buy a copy rather than borrow from the CA library. Keen sailors would benefit greatly from having this kind of comprehensive manual readily to hand and using it. –IG
