Colour and b&w photos and sketchesVenezuela and Bonaire have the great advantage of being outside the Hurricane belt* and therefore make attractive summer cruising grounds for Caribbean based or transitting cruisers. However I would not venture into these waters without a copy of Chris Doyle’s guide close to the navigation table and I would also take it ashore with me when I went sightseeing, shopping or dining. The information is comprehensive and the cloured sketch chartlets are unambiguously clear. I believe any future edition of the CA Handbook would do even better were it to follow the format of this and others in this series.

*Though there have been a couple of hurricanes in the last 200 years. IG
