The ninth edition of this annually-updated Yachtsman’s Directory has increased in size from A5 to A4 and has been expanded to cover the whole of the Iberian peninsula, including both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean coasts of Spain, Portugal, the Balearic Islands, and Ceuta in North Africa. It is bi-lingual, all information being given in Spanish and English.
There is a great deal of practical information, including tables of berthing charges and shipyard rates, radiotelephone communications, likely wind conditions and sources of weather forecasts. For each coastal region there is a general description of all available harbours and anchorages. Selected ports have large-scale plans showing pontoon arrangements and depths, and information about facilities, but not the approaches to ports. Goods and services are advertised in a large Yellow Page section.
The Guide is intended to be used in addition to a pilot, and does not remove the need for up-to-date charts and, for the Atlantic coast, tide tables.
The coverage of the Atlantic coast from Hendaye to Vigo is sparse. The emphasis is on Mediterranean Spain. - MWE
