It is getting on for fifty years since I took our Vertue through the passage between Herm and Jethou with the aid of a sketch drawn on the back of a cigarette pack by a friendly boatman on the quay at St. Peter Port.    Times change……….. I cannot think of adequate adjectives to describe the excellence of this pilot book except to most heartily recommend it.    Anchorages, transits and all the local knowledge one could desire.  This may come to you too late for this season but for browsing over in the winter……….. – JFB
