I had the pleasure of reviewing an earlier version of this guide and can report that it has got better. Authored by Jimmy Cornell the guide provides a comprehensive guide to this little cruised set of islands. There are sections on the history and culture of the islands, anchorages, harbour and marina plans and approaches, island maps and local information. There are further sections on the weather, especially the wind acceleration zones that
feature strongly in any Canary Island Cruise, and navigational advice for approaching the islands. Additionally, there is a suggested itinerary for cruising the islands. The book is peppered with clear photographs that complement the well written text. The guide is spiral bound allowing the book to be left open on the page of interest, a feature that other guide publishers would do well to follow.

To get the whole into 120 pages is an achievement, albeit at the cost of a small typeface that this mature reviewer found a bit challenging. This is but a minor gripe, the guide is a well rounded piece and a must for anybody contemplating cruising in the Canary Islands. - CRE
