Pioneer" is a 'Skillinger', the East Coast's answer to the Brixham Trawler, but much, much more elegant. You may have seen her at her mooring in the entrance to Pyefleet, or out sailing in local waters. David Tourney of the Pioneer Trust will tell the story of "Pioneer's" miraculous rescue from the West Mersea saltings, rebuilding in an Essex barn and present working life. Come prepared to make a donation to support the preservation of this lovely vessel and the very worthwhile role she now plays in the community.
