Contributing to MyCA

There are various ways you can contribute to MyCA. Some of these are available to everyone and others are for a restricted group of people such as section secretaries or committee members. Here are some of the of the ways:

Comments. Many pages allow you to add comments: at the bottom of the page will be a link "Add new comment". This is an easy way to correct or add something to a post. The author may respond either directly to you or by adding it in to the post, in which case they may delete the comment, which has served its purpose.

Personal Blog: This may be used to record your voyages or to make any other general posts that are linked directly to your account. In net jargon, blog stands for "Web log". Click here to start. You can add any number of pages and you can find them by clicking on "Blogs" on the left hand side and then "My blog".

Forums: Discussion on many topics is dealt with in a separate help article.

My account details: You can change your name, password and email address here by clicking on "Edit" (the Edit tab). It will soon be possible to update your address and other details in our main membership records. At present this is only partially working: the details are filled in from the database but are be updated when you change them. You can also check on all contributions you have made to MyCA by clicking on the Track tab.

Cruising Information Reports: These provide the essential life blood of the CA and are now more convenient than ever to provide. You can do it online or submit them via a form by email.

Classified Ads: You can now add your own ads in on MyCA and choose whether they are seen by members only or anyone in the world.

Polls: From time to time we ask members about their opinions and you can add your vote.

Committee Minutes: We publish minutes of many committees and groups online and if you are in charge of minutes for one of these you may post them here.

Section News & events: These are edited and updated by the section secretaries.

News: These items can be added by staff or committee members.
