Breton Brittanique arrange year round berthing in the two marinas here and
encourage foreign visitors to take up their offer. A 50/50 option of winter
pontoon and summer buoy currently costs £1120 for a 10m yacht. A year round
marina berth is £1369. Both include the service of gardiennage
including line checks, fenders, seacocks, batteries. Ed., 16/04/05 Audierne - Lat: 48N00.6 Long: 04W32.3 New pontoons under construction right next to existing. HbrMr says there will be about 30 visitors spaces. He is very helpful and Anglophile. Frank Singleton, Yacht: Anhinga, 3/8/00 South Brittany - Graham Jefferies, HLR is offering a service for people who want to leave their boat in his region of Southern Brittany. He will help find cheap moorings, supervise work, see to victualling, deliveries to & from etc. Address: Kermahin, 56440 Languedoc, France. Telephone: 0033 97 65 29 26; Fax: 0033 2 97 65 85 67. The following group of ports offer local shops in easy reach though, in some cases, a taxi may be necessary for larger supermarkets. Each has a local Tourist Office to advise on attractions in their area. Water is available in each and diesel in most. Lorient – Capitainerie has a small bar. Boat repair etc. available Locmiquelic – Boat repair services available Port Louis - Trinite sur Mer – small bar in capitainerie Port Navalo – Auray – Diesel nearest port Crouesty (see below) Vannes – Crouesty – small bar in capitainerie Graham Jefferies, HLR, 24/1/05 Port Bloc ( Verdon) – New marina – Port Medoc - opened opposite Royan but not recommended as expensive, isolated and empty. Staff found unhelpful. Note sailing directions advising not to cut corners on entering the Gironde estuary – danger with swell - Andre Fromilhague, HLR, 4/02/05Editorial note: PBO No. 465 September 2005 has an article suggesting the new marina is quiet and economic for British boats to consider for longer term berthing. We shall be interested to hear from anyone who has been there since the above member’s comments were made. Ed. 05/08/05 |
