Rugen Area. All probably better bouyed
than Barry's earlier visits. Now very clear and in main channels at least large
marks used. West German style. You need Karten fur die Sportschiffahrt 3006
updated Aug 99 or later. For Rugen 3008 for Saaler Bodden & Rostock to
cover the whole area. If entering the area from Kiel and the west the Libben
channel is no problem with a least depth of 2.5m However the Gellenstrom and
Barhofter Rinne in theory carrying better depths of 4.5 m are liable to silting
and you should call Stralsund traffic on VHF ch 67 for latest info.
NEUENDORF On Hiddensee Chartlet (Blatt)14 plan C. gives a good picture.
54-31.45 N 13-05.75E Newly restored and repiled. good mooring rings from two
piled slots 30-40 in number . Depth in Marina area 2.2-2.4 m but deeper in
fishing harbour . Dredged channel into port 2.5m so that is the practical max
draft. Water showers and Electricity available . Basic foodstuff from
Harbourmasters shop but little else at the moment.Things are changing fast
however as they are everywhere in the area as west German and EC cash is used
to rebuild the old East . Dues 15 DM for the 30 ft Athene. Showers 2DM but only
one each sex.
STRALSUND The Northen harbour near the old town is now
pontooned and clearly marked for visitors 9m upwards by line to 15m. Water and
electricty was available but not at all berths. Easy walk to Cathedral and
walled town all being rebuilt. A must if you are in the area . Bridge currently
opens 0230-0250;0520-0540;0720-0740;1120-1140;1750-1810;2130-2150; but changes
so use ch 67 to check. Diesel Fuel from shell barge near Klapp-Brk. before
