New Guide – was introduced in January for visiting yachtsmen. Produced by collaboration between Sailing Today and local government departments, it gives information on approaches, transits, passages, harbours, marinas etc as well as useful contact details and more general tourist information.     Guernsey – St Sampson – 350 berth new marina scheduled to open at Easter 2005 at this harbour on the North East coast of the island.  Ed., 30/04/05

First boats have now moved into the recently completed St Sampson’s Marina after delays and false alarms.  Ed. 23/06/05

Guernsey – Doyle Passage – (back entrance to Beaucette Marina) Latest charts show limits of the firing range which can cause potential problems for passing yachtsmen (!) – take care when red flags prominent on shore in the Fort le Marchant area.  Ed. 20/06/05

Greve de la Ville, Sark.
Anchorage in an attractive bay on the east side of the island. Beach landing but very steep climb to facilities in the interior. 13 substantial visitors moorings laid this year, but the Seigneur charges £12 a night! (but well worth it in a blow as the holding is reported to be suspect). John Northcott, October 2001


St.Catherine’s Bay, Jersey
Large bay sheltered from north and west by large breakwater. No official visitors moorings but substantial private moorings usually available. No shoreside amenities. Shops and buses at Gorey 2 miles away. John Northcott, October 2001
